Electronic Gyro

We developed an electronic gyro for a client, using MEMS technology. The main design features are:

  1. 32 gyros are used to improve the drift and accuracy.
  2. A Peltier cooler is used to keep the MEMS ICs at 25°C, which is where the drift is zero.
  3. The Peltier cooler operates in a closed loop regulator mode, using PWM to regulate the temperature.
  4. Advanced signal processing is used to further improve the stability and accuracy.
  5. The unit is available us purely a gyro, or as a gyro and accelerometer combination.
